Clyde, William Alvin "Bill" Harrison, age 68, of Caledonia, Michigan and a part-time resident of Clyde, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, April 24, 2008. A native of Barry County, Michigan, he was the son of the late Walter and Virginia Mae Hoover Harrison and was also preceded in death by one brother, W. James Harrison. He received his B.S. in Agricultural Education, Masters in Education, and PhD in Administration from Michigan State University. He was a lifelong educator of vocational education. He was a charter member and a former Elder of Peace Reformed Church of Middleville, MI. Bill lived by the FFA motto, "Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve." He always said, "I grew up on a farm at the end of a dirt road, spending my life trying to get away from that dirt road, and later retired onto a farm at the end of a dirt road. " He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Burgess Harrison; two sons, Brad Harrison and his wife, Trish, of Mattawan, MI and Bryan Harrison and Rosalyn Bliss of Caledonia, MI; one daughter, Jill Harrison, of Caledonia, MI; five sisters, Clara Jane Tucker and her husband, Tommy, of Huntsville, AL, Irene Ward and her husband, Richard, of Shelbyville, MI, Christine Schad and her husband, Rex, of Middleville, MI, Pauline Brower of Oconomowoc, WI, and Josephine Klumpp and her husband, Ken, of Otsego, MI; two brothers, Robert Harrison and his wife, Ellen, of Livermore, CA and Patrick Harrison and his wife, Judy, of Middleville, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Joyce Brown and her husband, Jack, of Canton, Janet Henry and her husband, William, of Hastings, MI, and Enid Harrison, of Middleville, MI; and four grandchildren, Kaitlin, Brett, Kara, and Jacob Harrison. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Kitty Crain. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be held in Caledonia, MI.
