William Henson

Canton – William Floyd "Bill" Henson, age 90, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Allen and Ollie Parris Henson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, of 64 years, Edith West Henson; two sisters, Mabel Reece and Nora Bell Pless and five brothers, Eugene, Dewey, Florin, Cecil and Dillard Henson. He was formerly employed by American Enka for 30 years and retired from Champion International and Henson's Florist where he worked for many years along with his wife. He is survived by several nieces and nephews; wonderful friends and neighbors, such as Dean Clontz, Mike Allen, and Dale Green. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnny Foster, Reverend Ricky Mason, and Reverend Dean Clontz officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
