Waynesville, William Henry "Bill" Justice, age 84, of 44 Commons Way, passed away on March 24, 2010 at Smoky Mountain Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Hazel Kirkpatrick Justice. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five brothers, McClean, Edward, Clyde, J.R., and Candler Justice and one sister, Faye Rogers. He was a decorated US Navy veteran of World War II. Bill was a yard switchman at Burlington Northern Santa Fe, retiring after 30 years employment. He loved to hunt deer and elk in the Northwest and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mabel Medford Justice; one daughter, Sandra Ann James and her husband, George, of Ketchikan, Alaska; a sister, Kathleen Hipps of Waynesville; two brothers, David Justice of Waynesville and James Justice of Idaho; and one grandson, Jesse Tyler Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Simpson and Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. Inurnment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
