William Kuykendall

Waynesville, NC—William Dale Kuykendall, age 61, of Love Lane, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Dale was a native of Haywood County and a prior resident of Orange Park and Jacksonville, Florida for 40 years. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Cassie Kell Kuykendall. He attended Bob Jones and Western Carolina Universities and later Freewill Baptist Bible College where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree and continued his education at Liberty University to earn his Masters Degree in the Psychology of Counseling. Dale worked for 15 years at Southern Bell and was a teacher at FCCJ in Jacksonville, Florida and Edward Waters College, AME. He was also employed as a substance abuse counselor for various agencies as well as the Florida prison system. Dale was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Canton. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Janet Rosser Kuykendall; a son, William Dale Kuykendall, Jr., of Lake Mary Esther, Florida; a daughter, Allijean Cannady and her husband, Timothy, of Reidsville, Georgia; one stepson, Douglas Alan Sanders, of Crestview, Florida; his brother, Dr. Larry David Kuykendall and wife, Linda, of Elliott City, Maryland; three grandchildren, Jill and Candace Cannady and Ashton Sanders; and his uncles and aunts, Gerald Wheeler and his wife, Oveda, of the Cruso community and Joe H. and Wanda Hall of Canton. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Canton.
