William Ledford

Waynesville-William Sanford "Junior" Ledford, age 66, of 428 Westwood Circle, died on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late William Sanford, Sr. and Alice Rich Ledford. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Viola May Ledford Sanford. He worked 20 years at Furniture Village. He loved to camp and fish at Lake Chatuge and also loved spending time with his grandsons. He is survived by his wife 45 years, Judith Reece Ledford; two sons, Terry Ledford and his wife, Mary, of Waynesville and Dewayne Ledford and his wife, April, of Sylva; three sisters, Mary Mull and her husband, Dee, of Cullowhee, Margaret Ledford Jones and her husband, Clifford, and Genevee Conard and her husband, Lowery, both of Waynesville; two brothers, Ray Ledford and his wife, Mary, and Raymond Ledford and his wife, Carolyn, both of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Avery and Tanner Ledford and one step grandson, Dustin Silvers; and Sherry Raines, a dear friend of the family, of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Allen Blanton and Reverend Ray Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
