William Morgan

William Ernest "Ernie" Morgan, age 49, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Memorial Mission Hospital Campus. He was a native of Buncombe County and a son of Mary Abel Morgan of Fernandina Beach, FL and the late Charlie Morgan. Ernie was employed by Ward Piano Company for the past 25 years and he attended Canton Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, William Ernest "Little E." Morgan, Jr. of Pearlington, MS and Thomas Allen "T.A." Morgan of Fernandina Beach, FL; one daughter, Carmen Nicole Mixon Morgan of Ridgeland, SC; two sisters, Phyllis Morgan Potter of Waynesville, and Carolyn Dianne Hill of West Asheville; three brothers, Roger Dale "Saigon" Morgan and Charles Allen Morgan, Jr. both of Canton, and Wayne Wesley Morgan of Fernandina Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Kelsey Trinity, Devon and Matthew "MGM". A memorial service will be held, in celebration of his life, at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2008 at Canton Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Penland officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home of Allen Morgan, 15 Miller Street, Canton, NC. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the North Carolina Wildlife Endowment Fund, 322 Chapanoke Road, Raleigh, NC 27699-1707.
