William Queen

William Douglas Queen, age 58, of Eastwood Drive died on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late William George and Dorotha Smathers Queen. He was employed with Champion International in Waynesville as a lab technician with 40 years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. Doug enjoyed restoring cars, in particular Mustangs and MG's. He also loved his pets and watching westerns. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy B. Queen; a son, Jason Queen and his wife, Jill, of Lyman, SC; two sisters, Diane Justice and Sherry Palmer both of Canton; and two very close friends, Nathan and Sarah Ingle. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2010, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Jay Meadows officiating.
