William Redmond

W. 'Ronald' Redmond, 95, of Candler, passed away on Monday, June 08, 2009 at the VA Medical Center. He was the son of Joseph B. and Ivory Henderson Redmond. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Alice in 2006 and his daughter Gail Shuffler Thomas.

Mr. Redmond served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church and belonged to the American Legion Post 70. He worked as a dental technician for 40 years.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Alice Roberts and husband Bobby of Leicester, son, Jeff Redmond and wife Brenda of Candler, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11am on Thursday in the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn with the Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the park with Military Honors provided by the Buncombe County Memorial Team.
