William Reynolds

Canton- William Charles "Bill" Reynolds, age 81, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Charles George. V.A Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lucille Smathers Reynolds. Bill was a United States Navy veteran, who served in the Korean War as well as in the United States Naval Reserves for 30 years as a Chief Petty Officer. He was later employed with Champion International with 21 years of service and was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as having a great love for cars and motorcycles. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patsy Gaddy Reynolds, of Canton; a daughter, Vicky Putnam and her husband, Ronald, of Canton; a son, Eric Charles Reynolds, of Canton; and two granddaughters, Karol Anne and Katie Irene Putman. A special thank you is extended to the staff of The Valor Hospice of The Charles George V.A. Medical Center of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Wells Funeral Home in Canton with Reverend Jason Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
