William Sanford

Waynesville, William Douglas Sanford, age 58, of 447 Red Maple Drive, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. A native of Gibson County, Tennessee, he was the son of Nell Sanders Sanford and the late Robert Sanford. He is a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a former employee of Suburban Propane. He most recently was a self-employed gas line fitter. Doug was of Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing, and attending rodeos. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Franklin Sanford; one son, Rocky Sanford and his wife, Stephanie, of Waynesville; two daughters, Stacey Pedigo of Bath Springs, TN and Tamra Goff of Crockett County, TN; one sister, Ava Kent, of Gibson, TN; one brother, Gary W. Sanford and his wife, Janice, of Savannah, TN; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Cove Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Stacy Woods officiating.
