William Wines

Canton – William Ray Wines, 78, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at his residence.

Ray was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Ray Carley and Mary Lucille Warren Wines.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Howard Wines, who died in 2016 and a brother, Bobby Wines.  Ray loved softball, fishing, golfing, and mowing his yard.

He is survived by two daughters, Kim Kielson (Charles) and Lorrie Gradless; one son, Mike Wines, all of Canton; a sister, Judy Pressnell of Lake Junaluska; five grandchildren, Amanda Hudson (Joe) of Columbia, South Carolina, Samantha Kielson of Spartanburg, Jonathan Wines of Candler, Jacob and Jordan Kielson, both of Canton; and two great-grandchildren, Brady and Finley Hudson.

A private graveside service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 39 Robinson Road, Clyde, NC  28721.
