William "Bill" Sentelle

Clyde – William Stuart “Bill” Sentelle, 87, of the Bethel Community passed away on Friday August 21, 2020 at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Harris and Bernice Calvin Sentelle.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Harris Sentelle.  He was a graduate of Bethel High School and attended Warren Wilson College prior to his military service.  He was a former employee of American Enka.  Bill opened the Pure Oil Service Station in Hazelwood and later opened Sentelle’s Seafood in 1962.  He was a corporal in the United States Army serving during the Korean War in the 724th Battalion, 3rd Transportation Railway Command.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Moore Sentelle; a daughter, Debbie Sentelle Milner (Michael) of Clyde; two sons, Stuart Sentelle of Waynesville and Mark Sentelle (Pat) of Loganville, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Lauren Milner, Brandon Milner (Tiffany), Stacey Crowe (Jason) and Mark Sentelle, II (Christy).

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Bethel Community Cemetery with the Reverend Matthew Pruett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN   38105.
