Willie Kirkpatrick

Willie Mae Justice Kirkpatrick, age 88, of Mountain Hart Retirement, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Edith Paskal. Mae was orphaned as an infant and raised by other members of the family. In her teens, she moved to Asheville, NC and lived in Buncombe and Haywood Counties the remainder of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bip" Francis Kirkpatrick, who died in 2002, and a son, Danny Justice. She is survived by four sons and two daughters, by a previous marriage. They are Tommy, Douglas, James and Larry Justice, Kileen Kaufaman and Annette York; and a nephew, Arthur Moon of Waynesville. She was the most thoughtful and loving wife and mother that ever lived. Mae loved and honored her family and husband with an affection seldom seen. She loved her church, Crabtree United Methodist of which she and her husband were members. Mae will be remembered by everyone who knew her as a warm, caring, and generous lady. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Dawn Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
