Willie Neill

Waynesville, Willie Mae Mitchell Neill, age 94, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was born in Amarillo, TX, but resided most of her life in Odessa, TX until moving to Haywood County in 1999 to be near her son and family. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Melinda Bennett Turner and was the last surviving sibling of 8 children. Willie was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Mitchell who died in 1969 and later to Pat Neill, who died in 2000. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Odessa until moving to NC where she attended Waynesville First United Methodist Church when able. She is survived by one son, Bob Mitchell and his wife, Molly Jackson Mitchell of Lake Junaluska; two granddaughters; Melissa Walker and husband Todd of Charlotte; Melinda Moore and husband David currently residing in Wiesbaden, Germany and 5 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Resthaven Memorial Park in Odessa TX.
