Wilma Black

February 15, 1930 — May 25, 2003

Canton-Wilma A. Black, age 73 of 17 Skyline Drive, died Sunday, May 25, 2003 at her residence.

She was daughter of the late Bruce and Lena Styles Anglin of Yancy Co., and was also preceded in death by a brother, Ed Anglin. She was a member of Canton First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George I. Black, two sons, Roger Black and his wife Robin and Scott Black and his wife Margaret, all of Canton, one brother Paul Anglin and his wife Pauline of Hazelwood, a sister-in-law, Evelyn A. Anglin of Burnsville, four grandchildren, Travis, Justin, and Jarred Black and Kristen Sherlin and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Dr. Jack B. Sammons and Reverend Matthew Pruett officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorials Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis, Justin and Marshall Black, Robert Ray, Jr., Jeff Burnes and Jimmy Clontz. Honorary pallbearer will be Jarred Black.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Haywood County, Haywood Regional Medical Center, Home Health Bldg., 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
