Wilma Freeman

Wilma Freeman, age 73, formerly of 2361 Beaverdam Road, died Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. She was a native and lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of Nellie Worley Surrett of Canton and the late Ralph M. Surrett. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Collins and Linda Trull. Wilma served as the pianist for Beaverdam Baptist Church for 51 years, where she was a member. She is also survived by a daughter, Vickie Freeman Ball and her husband, Carrell, of Leicester; a son, Danny Reeves Freeman, of Dameron, MD; two sisters, Grace Chapman and Jean Willis, both of Canton; a brother, Ralph Surrett, of Canton; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 step granddaughters and a step great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Worley, Reverend Jack Scott and Reverend Ed Worley officiating. Burial will be at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2006, at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
