Wilma Howell

Clyde, Wilma Smart Howell, age 98, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. She was the daughter of the late Silas and Sarah Davis Smart of Crabtree and was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. Howell, daughter, Virginia Cagle, sister Edith Best, brother, Joe Smart and her nephew, Autry Best. Wilma graduated from Clyde High School in 1929. She was a homemaker and was a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church and attended Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church. Wilma is survived by her son-in-law and caregiver, Darryll Cagle, a granddaughter, Kimberly Crumpler, two great-grandchildren, Kassendra and Nathan Crumpler, a niece Doris West and two nephews, Don and Tim Smart. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kitty Crane and Reverend Ted Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim, Don and Frank Smart, Nick Reeves, Dean Cutshaw, and Tom Warwick.
