Wilma Medford

Waynesville-Wilma C. Medford, age 96, formerly of Beech Street, died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at Britthaven of Franklin. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Will and Mary Allen Massie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lee Medford, who died in 1973; two daughters, Edna Suttles and Gertrude Gaddy; two sons, Charlie and Everette Medford; two brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren. She retired from Wellco and was a member of Hyatt Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and playing bingo. She is survived by two sons, Roy Gene Medford and his wife, Barbara and Lonnie Medford, both of Waynesville; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with Reverend Robert Stiles officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
