Wilsie Green

Waynesville, Wilsie Reece Green, age 86, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Laura Davis Reece. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Green who died in 2004. Wilsie was employed at Welco Shoe Company for 35 years and was a member of Camp Branch Freewill Baptist Church. Wilsie is survived by two sons, Donald D. Green, and his wife, Geraldine and Carl Green, and his wife, Evelyn, both of Waynesville; one sister, Betty Ann Birchfield, two sister's-in-law, Gincie Lee, of Waynesville, Katherine Mintz, of Canton; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Banks officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
