Waynesville, Wilson Clark "Wick" Medford, age 91, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Haywood Lodge. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late W. Clark and Elizabeth McCracken Medford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Bramlett Medford, who died in 1998 and his second wife, Agnes Medford, who died in 2015; sisters, Mary McElroy, Mildred Wulff, Helen Cartwright and Anna Robertson; and a brother, Dean Medford. Wick was a WWII Army veteran and was in D-Day Invasion of France on Utah Beach, he was a Gunner on an armored car with the 4th Calvary Mechanized. Wick was a route man for Pet Dairy, avid bowler and manager of Midway Lanes. He was also a salesman for Sears & Roebuck for 25 years. Wick loved music played and sang in Orchestra's and also sang in church choirs for some 50 years. He is survived by two sons, Dan Medford (Mary Jo) of Canton and Greg Huebner (Marjorie) of Niceville, Florida; a grandson, Daniel Medford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend David Childers officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Military Services will be conducted by Haywood County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
