Winnie Walker

Winnie Joyce Walker, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late James Edwin and Mary Hipps Walker. Joyce was employed by Champion International as systems engineer and was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church. She is survived by one sister, Barbara Walker Davis of Clyde; two brothers, Jerry Walker and his wife, Joann, and Robert Walker and his wife, Jackie, all of Clyde, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. T. David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
