W.R. Jenkins

Clyde, William Richard Jenkins, age 65, of 82 Beaver Road, died on Monday, December 22, 2008 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Iolet James and Amanda Conard Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by a son Keith Jenkins, who died in 2006. Beaver was an incinerator operator with Dayco Corporation over 30 years before retiring in 1995. He was a community helper to many friends and neighbors and was a member of Crabtree Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sue Griffin Jenkins; two sisters, Mildred Pruett, and her husband, Guy, of Waynesville and Ila Mae Norman, and her husband, Ralph, of San Diego, CA; one grandchild, Lorianne Jenkins and one great grandchild, Austin Keith Surrett both of Waynesville; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bruce Cayton and Amos Stevenson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
