Yvonne Garvin

Waynesville, Yvonne Shaw Garvin, age 98, of Hazelview Drive, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. A native of Port Clinton, Ohio, and former resident of Brevard County, Florida, she had resided in Haywood County since 2005. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Blanche Winnie Shaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Benton Garvin, who died in 1994; a son, David Benton Garvin; and one sister, Nona Snider. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville and enjoyed traveling and her pet birds. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia G. Poole, of Waynesville; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Garvin, of Round Rock, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
