Zack Cole

Waynesville-Zack Clayton Cole, age 82, of Sunnyside Drive died Friday, December 14, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was born in Swain County and was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Thomas Clingman and Catherine Williams Cole and was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sara Cole who died in 1993; a son, Clayton Cole; two brothers, Hugh and Thomas Cole; granddaughter, Pamela Cole; infant great granddaughter; sister, Frances and two infant sisters. Mr. Cole retired as a Security Guard for Haywood Builders Supply and had worked at St. John's Catholic Church as a groundskeeper for many years. He attended Holly Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Lillie Wyatt and her husband, Gary, of Waynesville; four sons, Zack Edward Cole and his wife, Debbie of Kansas, Jack Cole and his wife, Joann, Willie Cole and his wife, Stacey and James Cole and his wife, Tammy all of Waynesville; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Morning Star United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
