Zeldimae Clark

Waynesville

Zeldimae Bernice Cagle Clark, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at her residence.

A native of Rabun County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James and Effie Jane Sutton Cagle.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn M. Potter and Linda Silvers; son, Howell Jr. Ledford (Brenda), granddaughter, Sandra M. Howell; grandson, Daniel Ledford; sister Lois Rich; and two brothers, Carl and Phearson Cagle.  Zeldimae worked at R. N. Barbers Orchard for ten years and was a homemaker and worked at Lake Junaluska in food services until retirement.  She loved taking care of those around her always putting others before herself and will be greatly missed by all who loved her dearly.

Zeldimae is survived by Aletha L. Rogers, and her husband, Ron, of Waynesville; a brother, Billy H. Cagle, of Waynesville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Green Hill Cemetery with Pastor Ben Shaeffer officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, General Fund, 98 Elizabeth Chapel Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.

The care of Mrs. Clark has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
