Zelma Young

Zelma Sue Young, age 68, of Luther Rd., formerly of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. She was native of Buncombe County and had resided there for the past 6 years. She was the daughter of the late Dennis Young who died in 1965 and Nell Miller Young Blythe who died in 1991. She was a Registered Nurse and retired in 1993, after 33 years of service, from Margaret R. Pardee Hospital. When she retired she was a nurse in the coronary care unit. Zelma was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hendersonville, a 1957 graduate of Enka High School and a 1960 graduate of Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and events. She is survived by 2 sisters, Linda Jean Pruett of Candler and Sheila Kaye Towe and her husband, Ernie, of Salem, SC; a nephew, Danny Pruett and his wife, Sharon, of Candler; 3 nieces, Kitty Campbell and Tammy Caudle of Candler, and Angie Elliott and her husband, Andy, of Greensboro; and great nieces and nephews, Megan and Justin Pruett, Amber and Tyler Caudle and Madison and Hunter Elliott. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Candler. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45, prior to the service.
