Zillah Marie "Noonie" Duckett, age 82, died on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Buncombe County and had resided in Haywood County for more than 20 years. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Elsie Jones Stamey and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Craig Plemmons; two brothers, Roy and Buster Stamey; and a sister, Helen Stamey. Zillah was manager of Enka High cafeteria for many years and was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. She loved her garden and flowers, especially petunias and rhododendron. She is survived by her husband, Max Duckett; two sons, Dale Plemmons and his wife, Julia, of Bethel and Eddie Plemmons and his wife, Freida, of Mauldin, SC; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins and Reverend Jay Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
