Canton –Louise Rae Denton, 87, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
Louise was a native of Westfir, Oregon and the wife of the late Jack Wade Denton, who died in 2001. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Adams and was a member of Long’s United Methodist Church. Louise’s life was filled with her love for her family as well as her church family. These relationships were her top priority. Louise was an avid reader and she always loved the ocean and life on the coast.
She is survived by three daughters, Jacque Ann Denton of Astoria, Oregon, Joanie Higgins and husband, Roger, and Jan Denton, both of Canton; one son, John Denton and wife, Ricki, of Canton; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Long’s United Methodist Church with the Reverend Aryn Williams-Ruebel officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long’s United Methodist Church, 1097 Coffee Branch Road, Canton, NC 28716.
