Virginia "Ginny" Cochran

Waynesville, Virginia Adell Wilson Cochran, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Memorial Mission Campus.

A longtime resident of North Carolina, she was a daughter of Richard O. Wilson, Sr. and Virginia Campbell Wilson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jane Phillips.  A graduate of Sylva-Webster High School in 1966, she was previously employed by Dayco Corporation.  However, Ginny found her calling through God at Broyhill Baptist Children’s Home.  Her passion for helping children throughout the years resonated deep in her soul.  Crocheting was one of her favorite activities and she appreciated the beauty of flowers.  What gave her the greatest joy was loving on her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Ginny is survived by her dear husband of 30 years, James A. Cochran, Jr.; one daughter, Catherine Balda, and her husband, Marcel, of Gardnerville, Nevada; two sons, Scott Hoyle, and his wife, Heather, of Minden, Nevada and David Myers, and his wife, Courtney, of Waynesville; her brother, Richard O. Wilson, Jr.; six grandchildren, McKenna Hoyle, Tanner Balda, Gage Hoyle, Cole Balda, Truett Myers, and Austyn Myers; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Tim Pullin officiating.  Burial will follow at Keener Cemetery in Sylva.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the funeral home.

The care of Mrs. Cochran has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
